Some of our many recent guests may be wondering exactly what kind of Baptist church we are. There are many kinds to choose from.
We are a Southern Baptist congregation. This means we hold the Bible to be true and the absolute authority on spiritual matters relating to God. We believe that faith in Jesus Christ is the only way a person can enter heaven, and that baptism is an outward symbol of dying to our old self and living in “newness of life.”
Our mission as a church is to see “the lost saved” and “the saved matured.” We call that LSSM, and every thing we do is done with these two things as our goals.
We are traditional in that we stress the importance of Sunday School and worship. Educationally, we believe that “family” is important, so we offer as much training as possible to make marriage and parenting successful. Musically, we may be a little less traditional than some churches, blending the old hymns with the newer choruses, but doing both with meaning and excellence.
